Kingsgate Hotel Greymouth is a welcoming 3.5 star hotel in the centre of Greymouth virtually on the Grey River. It is in the centre of town, just a kilometre from the terminus for the world famous Tranz-Alpine train, which connects it to Christchurch. Greymouth is about the centre of a 500 kilometre narrow strip of land wedged between the Southern Alps and the pounding Tasman Sea on the west coast of the South Island. The area boomed with the discovery of gold in 1864 and retains some of the Irish and Irish/Australian influence brought with them by miners.

The 100 room hotel is an ideal base for exploring the west coast with its ancient forests; wild rivers and long abandoned gold mining towns. Dining

Alberts Restaurant: Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. A la carte dinner Sunday to Friday and buffet dinner on Saturday evenings.

Albion Bar: The Albion Bar is located in the original part of the hotel built in 1906 and the decor has been maintained to capture this historical ambience.
Open 4.30pm - late daily.
